12 Hour Paediatric First Aid

First Aid is the initial help we can give a casualty for treatment of any sudden injury or illness until more professional help arrives. Through this initial management of injury or illness suffered, lives can be saved and minor injuries prevented from developing into major ones.
This course follows OFSTED and EYFS guidelines and is appropriate for child carers, nannies, nursery nurses, foster parents, school and pre-school staff. The course is 12-hours (2 days) and certificates are valid for three years.

- Basic Life Support - Adult, Child and Baby

- Casualty Examination
- Unconsciousness
- Anaphylaxis
- Fractures
- Control of Bleeding and Shock
- Asthma
- Eye and Ear Injuries
- Burns and Scalds
- First Aid Kits
- Childhood Illnesses including Meningitis and Febrile Convulsions
- Regulations
- Recording and Reporting
Assessment:
At the end of the course delegates will be assessed on both their theory and practical skills (CPR and Injury). Upon successful completion of these assessments the delegate will be awarded a 12 Hour Paediatric First Aid certificate that is valid for three years.
